Person of Interest catch up from last season

After four months of challenges of trying to get the entire 2nd to the last episode taped on the DVR of Person of Interest, my Sunshine and I had to wait for the series' Season 2 to be released on DVD to catch up with the end of last season, even as Season 3 has started yesterday to catch up with the end of season 2.  For whatever reasons, we kept on missing the final 10-15 minutes of the episode.

I look forward to another Fall Season premiere for all the shows that I have chosen to follow during the year minus Bones.  I am adding Blacklist on my viewing schedule.

Out on The Skydeck Chicago Ledge and 103 floors up!

Eight years ago, I took the elevator 103 floors up to what was then, the Sears Tower, and took a 2005 self-portrait.  Times have really changed.  Now, there is the Skydeck Ledge, which when I visited the first time, because it made its debut in 2009.

The first picture was taken by one of the staff member there.  It started when this couple was walking up to the last Ledge out of the four that they had a staff member.  The woman of the older couple said, "I'd pay you money if you would go on the Ledge," she said.  I noticed that she didn't say how much.  I later found out that this gentleman was scared of heights.  He offered for me to go first.  I did.  When I entered the enclosed 1,500 pound glass panel, which only extend 4.3 feet out, the employee kept on asking me to step back out!  "What do you mean???" I thought.  I am as out as I could!  And, it's only 4 feet out.  I must have been at the 4 feet mark with only the .3 left!  Or so I thought!

I noticed some of the people in the Ledge taking a self-portrait lying down with the camera pointed down 1353 feet down.  That sounds like a great idea!!!

Before the NASCAR drivers had to attend their driver meeting, where they receive instructions about the rules of the race, the presented a red carpet where drivers could meet their fans.  Not all of them walked down the carpet, though.  Some of them to mention is: Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, to name some.

Long, but good, day at the ChicagoLand Speedway!

Just as I predicted early Sunday morning, it was a long day at the NASCAR ChicagoLand Speedway because of a five-hour rain delay.  Since it is the only planned race this year that I will be attending, it was a good thing that it turned out to be a one day event.  The one drawback was watching the second half of the race in upper 50-degree temperature and waiting afterwards for my Sunshine to pick me up after the races.

There is one question that I have to ask:  what is with this guy?

Let's be clear, I am a NASCAR fan, however, I would not wear something like that!  I can understand how some people can't believe that I am a NASCAR fan.

During the late stages of the race, if anything else, I didn't want Kyle Busch to win!  Even though it put Matt Kenseth in the lead for the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship.  Let me repeat that in the unofficial standings as of early this morning, there is two out of the top five that I would say I would not select to win the 2013 Sprint Cup Championship: Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson.  I don't think that it would be good for the sport.

Looks like an interesting week ... in the greater Chicago!

The schedule for this Sunday's NASCAR race may be up in the air for its start time.  There is a forecast chance for rain during the afternoon.  We should see what happens, whether it will be a long day at the racetrack or not.  And if I will get WET or not!

If all goes as plan, we are headed to Aurora, Illinois to get some clothes for my Sunshine.  The weather is colder that she expected, so she didn't pack for the weather.  I am trying to convince her to take a picture next to the city sign.  I will let you know if that happens.

This week, it will also be interesting to be a tourist in this town, especially, with my Sunshine!  Right now, Skydeck Chicago/Willis Tower (formerly known as the Sears Tower), John Hancock Observatory, Navy Pier and the Museum of Science and Industry.  Did I forget any place that would be worth visiting?

I am planning to take as many pictures as I can of the Windy City.  And I have to update my Facebook profile picture with another self-portrait! ... Which one will it be??? I will get those pictures up as soon as I can.  The one picture that I am disappointed I didn't get a chance to take was the self-portrait of the Welcome to Indiana sign and myself.

Today, it's sightseeing.  Tomorrow, hopefully, it will be a good day for NASCAR racing.  It might be a looong day, though!

NASCAR in ChicagoLand: What day will the race be?

My Sunshine and I arrived at our hotel recently.

I looked at the forecast weather for Sunday.  Depending on which Web site you want to read, it says "Scattered Thunderstorms" from 40-70%.  Let's just hope that the weather will stay clear for the day.  If not, it will be two day event for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Chicago.
