Last week Friday, I left Orlando after five days of learning sessions to be a more effective leader in one of the top Fortune 500 companies. The lessons were centered on book work, role playing, and illustrations of what the major points of the objectives of the sessions. The core values of the company I work for will not only work for my career, but I strongly believe in my personal life, too! I noticed that the core values that are so part of my life now, built upon the core values of the companies I have worked in the past. I realize that the real challenge is not that there is enough information out there to make the changes that we need in our lives. I heard many leaders in my life that talked about keeping our jobs or procedures as simple as possible. It's the challenge of processing the information we have to make some type of meaningful change to achieve our mission in life.
On top of mind as I continue this chapter of my work life is to keep on learning, so that I can teach all team members. Part of that learning process is to learn to earn the respect of the team members who I will be working on my team.
I am about to embark on one of the most important phases of the start of my new chapter of my life that started at the beginning of September. I will be attending work at where it will be called my home restaurant starting tomorrow. It will be my plan to work to solve business opportunities without blame and to follow through on all my commitments. I am hoping that in the long run, I will be able to cut back the hours spent on working. I will be able to spend more one-on-one time with my Sunshine.
