Have you ever gone through life and
felt that you are doing fine, and then someone tells you that you are not? Well, it happens more often when you are
married than anything else. I guess for
those of you who have been married that is how it is, huh?
Every once in a while there might be
a bump in any journey. I thought that it
would be cool to go through a refresher course of what a marriage is with a
personal relationship with Christ.
I have chosen to read The Smart
Groom’s Answer Guide. It’s a guide for
the first year of marriage. It
interested me because it had a chapter on “What Does It Mean to be the
Spiritual Leader?” I have asked for my
wife and me to work through a workbook entitled, “After You say `I Do.’” She has been asking for more quality time
with each other, and I thought, this would give us a good guide to do so. I thought that I would find a way to build on
whatever momentum there is on just being married. Believe me, that is really what I need in
this world today with all the assault on the institution of marriage between a
man and woman.
I know that the process that we are
going through is because it’s all about molding me into the kind of man that God
wants me to be, no matter how my self-image of myself is. There are many times that I know in my
marriage or my role as a restaurant manager that I get really frustrated
because I do not understand why people do what others do!—especially since I
know everything, right?
